To the Settlers Landing Recreation Community,
I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you. Taking on the position of Pool Board President has given me the chance to meet and work with some amazing and dedicated people, and it has taught me alot about the community in which I live. It makes me proud to say the least.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of the current and previous board members that I have been privileged to work with so closely. Everyone of these individuals has given graciously to their community and supported me. This year’s board and pool manager, Jackson Phillips, had to go above and beyond to learn about and adhere to CDC guidelines in the midst of a pandemic. With the community taking the required steps to keep everyone safe, we were able to get through the pool season with no transmissions.
During some of our toughest days, the neighboring Greenfield community came to our aid. The relief and support that was given was much appreciated. And with the financial support of so many friends and community members, we were able to get back up on our feet again. To be able to witness so much unity right where I live, brings me great perspective on just how lucky I am to be part of this community.
I am also thankful to have been able to partner with both the Settlers Landing and North Settlers Landing Boards. When it is safe once again, this partnership will bring a new playground and better lighting to this area of the community. The willingness of these board members to work with us for the greater good opens the door to possibilities. We are so much stronger when we come together.
As this weekend draws to an end, so does my presidency. I am confident in the board and in the leadership of Derick Swenck, the new Pool Board President. Like you, I’m excited to see what is to come. This team is invigorated! They have already been discussing innovative ideas. Knowing that you are in excellent hands makes this process easier. I’m looking forward to relaxing poolside with you next summer.
Stay Healthy My Friends,
Anne P. Hampton
