Good evening SLRA Members,
Thank you for taking the time to read this email entirely. It contains important updates regarding the condition of our facilities and the disruption of normal operating hours and procedures.
Earlier this afternoon, the pool’s main pump motor died. Management and the Board worked quickly to requisition a new motor for our pool. To be very transparent and clear, this wasn’t a budgeted upgrade for Summer 2019. The new motor costs $929.26, and we anticipate spending $200-$250 to get the new motor set for our specific pump settings. In addition, the new motor is not expected to arrive until the middle to end of next week.
What does this mean for our membership?
1. SLRA is fortunate that Greenfield Community Association has graciously invited our members to swim and enjoy facilities while we await the new motor. GCA is located at 2221 Woodmont Drive (approx one mile from our pool), and their hours tomorrow are 11-8. Our lifeguards and pool manager will be there with our membership information and sign in sheets. Please thank the staff at Greenfield for being so inviting and supportive, as we hope we can somehow repay them for the generous community spirit.
2. Our swim meet for Tuesday, June 25th, scheduled at home against Surreywood WILL BE ON AS SCHEDULED, but will be at Surreywood pool instead of SLRA.
3. Our swim team will practice with Greenfield on Monday, and more information will come from the coaches.
4. More information about the 4th of July raffle will be coming out. Please consider buying tickets to help us recover from this unplanned expense.
Most importantly, we appreciate your patience and understanding on this. We are committed to fixing the problem as quickly as possible and committed to providing you updates as fast as we have them.
