- 4:00 – 5:00 PM – Intermediates & Seniors
- 5:00 – 5:45 PM – Midgets & Juniors, Junior Sharks
- 5:45 – 6:30 PM – Mites & Mini Mites
Per RMAL rules, the governing age will be the swimmer’s age as of May 31 for the current year.
- Ages for each group will be as follows:
- Junior Sharks Ages 6 and under who need help to be in the pool (will not swim meets)
- Mini-Mites Ages 6 and under who can swim a lap without assistance (stopping is ok!)
- Mites Ages 7 and 8
- Midgets Ages 9 and 10
- Juniors Ages 11 and 12
- Intermediates Ages 13 and 14
- Seniors Ages 15 through 18
Junior Sharks: Junior Sharks will run this year from May 31-June 15 for those young swimmers who need assistance to be safe in the pool. After the three weeks, the coaching staff and family will discuss if it is appropriate for the swimmer to move up to the mini-mites and participate more independently in the pool.

Swim Practices Start!
Swim team practice starts NEXT week! To find the practice schedule, check out the DOWNLOADS page of the website, or click HERE. You will find the following documents:
- Welcome packet
- Practice schedule
- Meet schedule
If you haven’t completed forms for swim team, you can also find the RMAL form and the SLRA form (you need both) at this same link.
All forms must be submitted and all fees must be paid in full by Friday, June 3.
During evening practices, the big pool will be closed but the baby pool will be open, weather permitting.
Meet sign ups for parent jobs will be sent out in the next two weeks. Remember, if your child is swimming, you are expected to work at least half of each meet. Sign up early to get your first pick!
Don’t have a swimmer? Check the link above to find out when we have home meets. We close at 4pm on the day of a home meet.

Back by popular demand, we will hold host our 2nd Friday night lights family pool party this Friday, July 10th 8pm until 1045pm.
Music will be playing as we swim under the lights and water volleyball will be set up for all ages to enjoy. The snack shack will be open selling drinks and snacks! We will have a fire pit on deck and Smores kits will be available at the snack shack for $1 each.The cost is $5 per person or $15 per family. Guests are also $5 per person and $15 for the family, so bring your friends.
Now for the rules!
- Non members must sign the liability waiver before entering the water.
- Patrons under the age of 18 are not allowed at the event without a parent or guardian on site at all times. No exceptions! .
- The baby pool will not open and will be off limits during the event.
- All applicable pool rules must be followed and pool guard instructions must be honored by all guests and members.
- The pools close at 10:45 sharp and the gate will lock at 11pm.

Thank you to Julie Batt and Liz Grosch for attending the league meeting with me last Monday. We are ready for Champs! You should have received an email about Champs. Look for more details soon about ordering shirts if you have a qualified swimmer.
Tuesday, July 7 – Away Meet
We will hold our Second AWAY MEET this Tuesday, July 7, versus Evergreen. Get directions to this meet HERE (you can also find them on the SLRA website under the events section here). We don’t have to arrive quite as early. See the starting schedule below. Click HERE to see what events your swimmer is in.
We are in need of a Mite parent and a few timers. If your child is swimming, we need your help. Please check out the Sign Up Genius HERE.

SWIM A THON!
You should have received paperwork at Wednesday’s ribbon ceremony. If you didn’t get a copy, you can download the information sheet and the forms from www.settlers-landing.org, or pick up a paper copy from the guard tent. Remember, participation is mandatory, but we have some options for you if you are out of town on July 18. See Julie Batt or Betsy Phillips with questions.

We hope that everyone is enjoying the pool so far this week. We have some exciting things happening at the pool this week! If you have a ‘Special Event’ sign please place this in your yard on Wednesday!
SLRA will host the second swim meet of the season. The pool will close at 4pm. All SLRA members not attending the swim meet are welcome to swim at Willow Oaks Country Club while we are closed. If you don’t do that come by and have dinner off the grill and cheer on the Sharks!
Tuesday is also Settlers Landing Spirit Day at Argyles Cupcakes and Frozen Yogurt, located just up the street in the Firebirds shopping center. The swim team will go to Argyles after the meet for frozen yogurt and fun times. They are staying open late just for us! They now serve lunch, so you can go anytime all day, just tell then you are with Settlers Landing!
Food Trucks will be at the pool from 5pm to about 8pm! The week is Boardwalk Hotdogs and Mr. Softee! Come take a dip and have a yummy dinner! If you are not a member of the pool and you purchase food you can swim for a $2 guest fee!
The pool will be closing at 6pm for a Swim Team Pool Party. We apologize for the inconvenience. There will not be yoga this night either!
If you want to swing by and get dinner the food trucks Crab Trap and Kona Ice will be at the pool!
Yoga on the pool deck begins at 9:30am! RAIN or SHINE (We will practice under the pavilion if raining)
Bring a water bottle, a yoga mat and a positive attitude. Our focus will be a gentle stretch – many options will be provide during practice so come feel free to come if you are a beginner or if you have an established practiced. You do not need to be a Settlers Landing community member to participate, so spread the word to your neighbors and friends. 🙂
- $5 per class – 50% of proceeds will go back to the pool.
- $25 punch cards will be available for purchase at the Pool entrance on Friday.
